Description:
“Peace is the most powerful weapon of mankind. It takes more courage to take a blow than to give one.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 1st October 2019, at St. Teresa’a Day School; The Special Assembly began with the school prayer. Post the prayer, our School Principal, Mr. Peter Fanthome (Junior) paid homage to this great leader, by offering a floral tribute to the Father of the Naiton.
A devotional ambience prevailed as the programme started with a meaningful speech, by Areeba Khan, outlining the contributions, sacrifices and achievements of Mahatma Gandhi. Then, the students of the Junior Section recited a poem ‘Gandhi ji ka Balidan’ with enthusiasm and high spirits. The School choir presented a beautiful melody, highlighting the ideologies of ‘Ahimsa and Satya’. This was followed by a meaningful musical drama, showcasing the significant events that took place in Gandhi Ji’s life, commencing from his childhood to the undisputed leader of India.
